LUMBAR PINE

The lumbar pine (this one stands near Porcupine Hills in southern Alberta) is a very old species of tree that is becoming rare. I didn’t know that when I chose to paint this. I chose it for it’s beautiful shape and the red in the sandstone rocks it’s sitting on. (Acrylic on canvas)

Maureen this reminds me of all the trips I took camping down at the Oldman River. We would pass through the Porcupine Hills on our way to the Oldman. There are some unique looking trees there. Beautiful work!!!!!
